City Bank declares its half yearly financial performance for 2017

City Bank recently presents its half yearly financial performance for 2017 through an ‘Earning Disclosure’ event held at Bank’s head office. The Bank declared its consolidated Earnings per Share (EPS) for the January-June 2017 period at BDT 2.18 against that of BDT 2.30 for the same period in 2016. Consolidated Profit after taxes was recorded at BDT 1,907 million for the first half of 2017 whereas it was BDT 2,014 million for the same period last year. Bank’s loans & advance and deposit have grown by 15.2% and 19.1% respectively. In addition, trade volume has also increased by 20%.

At the event, Sohail R. K. Hussain, Managing Director & CEO of City Bank briefly spoke of the Bank’s long-term vision and current strategic outlook. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer of City Bank also gave an overview of the recent financial performance of the Bank. The event was broadcast live and had both local and foreign participants from the investors’ community as well as higher officials of the bank. ‘Earning Disclosure’ event was hosted as a part of the bank’s initiative to scale up investor relations worldwide.
