A rundown of Nothing’s latest smartwatch, the CMF Watch Pro, to uncover its ideal target market.

Smartwatches are the latest hype in the gadget world, especially given how functional they are becoming every day. Nowadays, having a watch that simply tells the time does not quite make the cut as companies are introducing smartwatches so powerful that they are essentially an extension of our cellphones, and can do a myriad of tasks from monitoring health, tracking sleep cycles, and measuring activity levels when awake. But, finding a smartwatch that is both fashionable and practical without going over budget can be challenging. Enter CMF Watch Pro; the latest Nothing smartwatch which fills that need.

Nothing’s more approachable sub-brand, CMF by Nothing, stands for ‘Color, Material, and Finish,’ and sells consumer electronics at reasonable costs. As stated by Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing, CMF seeks to ‘democratise great design in a market segment that has frequently been overlooked.’ Nothing, the flagship brand, will keep emphasising innovation and high-end technology, while CMF will seize market share and create products of reliable quality.

The sleek design of the CMF Watch Pro emanates sophistication and elegance. The large 1.96-inch AMOLED display and the lightweight aluminium frame combine to create a sleek and sophisticated look. With its vivid resolution of 410 × 502 pixels, the display provides clear images and outstanding outdoor visibility.

Comfort is given first priority in the design of the CMF Watch Pro, guaranteeing a tight and light fit around the wrist. Even during vigorous workouts, the soft silicone straps offer a solid hold and are gentle to the skin. Because of its generally thin design, the watch may be worn with professional and informal attire.

The CMF Watch Pro’s core strength lies in its comprehensive health and wellness tracking capabilities. With real-time insights into an individual’s levels of effort provided by continuous heart rate monitoring, one may tailor their exercises and be on alert about their cardiovascular health as a whole. By analysing sleep habits, sleep monitoring helps users find areas for improvement and encourages restful sleep.

Users’ blood oxygen saturation levels may be measured by the wristwatch using SpO2 sensor technology, which provides important information about the health of their respiratory system. By keeping track of stress levels throughout the day, stress monitoring helps spot and manage possible stressors. Guided breathing exercises on the CMF Watch Pro offer a practical approach to de-stressing and promote relaxation and overall well-being.

The CMF Watch Pro is also competent in fitness tracking. It helps track workouts by giving thorough insights into exercises. A range of sports modes, such as running, cycling, swimming, and more, enable customised fitness monitoring of particular interests, all while a multi-system GPS tracking precisely records each workout session. The CMF Watch Pro also comes with a continuous calorie burn tracking feature which lets users keep an eye on how much energy they expend on workouts, while sedentary alerts encourage avoidance of extended stretches of inactivity. These features combined are aimed at leading users toward an active lifestyle.

The CMF Watch Pro makes no sacrifices on design and usefulness yet ensures that wearers stay connected and enjoy all the important capabilities of a smartwatch. With a built-in speaker and microphone which runs on an AI-powered noise reduction technology, communication is seamless. The microphone also means the watch can make and receive phone calls with crystal-clear clarity.

The watch also boasts a few accessibility features that improve day-to-day task management. Notifications and alerts about calls, texts, meetings and reminders are displayed directly on the watch face. The screen is also big enough to make room for a media control interface to stop, play, pause and resume music. A key highlight is the remote shutter button, but to make use of it, the phone’s camera app needs to be opened first.

The CMF Watch Pro runs smoothly on its proprietary operating system, providing a responsive and intuitive user experience. The operating system is also optimised for the watch, resulting in efficient processing and power management. The official rating states that the watch’s battery lasts up to 13 days with regular use which is a fair deal given its budget.

Pricing for The CMF Watch Pro starts at USD 69. Other smartwatches in the market in this range are made by Amazfit, Xiaomi, and Fitbit, but these brands are not CMF’s competitors. Amazfit and Xiaomi are popular for making cheap smartwatches with high-end features but they are known for cutting corners on build quality and user experience, and Fitbit’s interface is optimised for tracking activities more than mirroring smartphones. CMF, on the other hand, has targeted a sliver of the smartwatch market where the demand is for very well-built hardware with excellent design, durability, and comfort, and very well-built software with a select few features that will run seamlessly. The ideal CMF customer is a utilitarian minimalist with a desire for well-built tech.
