Russia's Honorary Consul Architect Ashiq Imran
was awarded the prestigious medal by the
Russian government on 24 October 2020. He
was awarded the medal in recognition of his
contribution to the development of bilateral
relations between Russia and Bangladesh by
setting up a memorial in the Laldighi area of
Chittagong in honor of Yuri Redkin, a Soviet
citizen killed in a mine-clearing operation at
the port of Chittagong in 1973. Ambassador
of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh
Alexander Ignatov handed over the medal to
Ashiq Imran.

On 12 October 2020 UNICEF welcomes
new data which shows that monthly
immunization service uptake has
surpassed pre-COVID-19 levels in
Bangladesh despite the challenges faced
by parents, communities, and health
services during the pandemic. The
national immunization program in
Bangladesh provides vaccines against 10
diseases including tuberculosis, diptheria,
pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis-B,
haemophilus influenza type-B,
pneumococcus, poliomyelitis, measles,
and rubella.

Coursera, the world’s leading online
learning platform on 18 October 2020
announced free versions of Coursera
for Campus and upgraded features to
address the critical and long-term
needs of higher education worldwide.
New features allow universities to
deliver academic integrity for
credit-bearing online learning, improve
student employability, and author
private courses. Currently, more than
3,700 institutions use Coursera for
Campus to deliver online learning to
over 2.4 million students.
