The world economy has been facing significant turmoil in recent times due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Due to the global pandemic, Bangladesh is also going through some severe challenges. Still, the economy needs to be kept functional and hence, Banks have continued offering services to clients amid the ongoing lockdown, though at a limited scale. Needless to say, bankers along with their families are facing substantial risks in ensuring services.

In response to Bangladesh Bank’s direction to all commercial banks to provide COVID-19 insurance coverage to the bankers who are working at these general holidays due to COVID-19, Guardian Life has quickly developed a suitable insurance package called ‘Corona Safety Net’ for the bankers. By availing this corporate plan, Bank can ensure peace of mind to their employees who are at higher risk of exposure and may become ill due to coronavirus while performing their duties during general holidays.

“Guardian Life is committed to society for providing the best insurance services through product and service innovation. In view of that spirit, Guardian Life has introduced this ‘Corona Safety Net’ plan in response to the highly appreciated decision of Bangladesh Bank to introduce a holistic COVID-19 focused life insurance plan for the brave bankers. The plan will provide an instant one-off payout of BDT 5 Lakh – 10 Lakh in case of an insured bank employee being diagnosed as a COVID-19 positive patient. Additionally, hospitalization benefit for COVID-19 treatment up to BDT 5 Lakh will be provided. In case of death of an insured bank employee due to COVID-19, BDT 25 Lakh – 50 Lakh will be paid to the family as death Benefit” said M M Monirul Alam, Managing Director & CEO of Guardian Life.
