Samsung are back after their disastrous rollout of their literally “explosive” Note 7 from last year. This time they beefed up their new flagship phone in terms of style and specs and thus, we have the Galaxy S8 which is a beautiful device packed full of new features that Android lovers can go nuts over. Although we will be looking at the S8 features in detail later, here’s a few nifty features it’ll have which you won’t find in the iPhones:
1. Screen Size – the S8 has a Quad HD Definition screen which makes it bigger and better than the 1080p definition on the iPhone 7 Plus.
2. Iris and facial scanning technology – iPhones only have the touch ID feature which most smartphones have nowadays but Samsung have introduced two really swift iris and facial scanning features which will make unlocking the phone even easier (as if it wasn’t easy enough already).
3. Charging – the S8 uses USB-C fast charging which is significantly faster than Apple’s lightning connector (lightning by name, not by speed).
4. Expandable Storage – the S8 has a microSD slot which allows for up to 256GB of additional storage meaning you’ll probably be able to add on more space than you’ll need in this lifetime. With the iPhones you’re still stuck with the standard 32GB, 128GB or 256GB built in storage modules.
5. Browser – the iPhones restrict you to the default Safari browser whereas in Samsung (and any other Android phone), you get to pick from the browser buffet menu of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or any other browsing app for that matter.
6. Headphone Jack – Last year’s iPhone 7 series shocked the world by abandoning the headphone jack for no apparent reason (except for cashing in on their unnecessary new earpods). Thankfully, the S8 producers thought against such a brazen and baffling move and stuck with those earphone jacks we’ve all grown to love on our phones.
