To celebrate the 30 years of its operations in Bangladesh and 50 years
of the country’s independence, Mastercard organized “Mastercard
Excellence Award 2021”- Next and Beyond on 18 November 2021.
Southeast Bank Limited has been awarded for “Excellence in
Mastercard Prepaid Business (Domestic) 2020-21” and “Excellence in
Mastercard Online Acquiring Business 2020-21” categories in the
award ceremony of “Mastercard Excellence Award 2021. M. A.
Mannan, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Planning, Peoples
Republic of Bangladesh handed over the award to Nuruddin Md.
Sadeque Hussain, Deputy Managing Director of Southeast Bank
Limited, for “Excellence in Mastercard Prepaid Business (Domestic)
2020-21” and “Excellence in Mastercard Online Acquiring Business
2020-21” categories. In the award ceremony, Md. Khurshid Alam,
Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank; Helen LaFave, Charge d'Affaires,
U.S. Embassy Dhaka and other senior officials were also present.

“Excellence in Mastercard Credit Business (Domestic)
2020-21”, “Excellence in Mastercard Credit Business
(International) 2020-21” and “Excellence in
Mastercard Contactless 2020-21” at the “Mastercard
Excellence Award 2021” event held on 18 November
2021. M. A. Mannan, MP, Honourable Minister,
Ministry of Planning, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh
as the chief guest; Md. Khurshid Alam, Executive
Director, Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Bank as the
special guest; Helen LaFave, Charge d'Affaires, U.S.
Embassy Dhaka as the guest of honour and other
senior officials from partner banks, fintech partners,
dignitaries and merchants from across the country
attended the program.

Denominated Pre-Shipment Loans on 22
November 2021 to support the Ready-Made
Garments industry face the challenges imposed by
COVID-19. The unique COVID-19 response
finance programme was designed through
consultation with renowned buyers, enabling
enhanced liquidity support for clients in a
challenging environment. The bank’s clients can
avail one-year liquidity support for payment of
wages, utilities and other operational expenses
under this programme, with a moratorium period
of 3 months. More than 20,000 workers received
their multiple months' salaries and festival bonuses
on time through these loans.

United Commercial Bank Limited sponsored "Bangladesh Investment
Summit 2021: Building Sustainable Growth Partnerships" organized by
Bangladesh Security & Exchange Commission respectively on 4 November
2021 and 8 November 2021 in London and Manchester, United
Kingdom. The Manchester session of 8 November 2021 was graced by
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, and the Honorable Minister of Land as chief
guest. Salman Fazlur Rahman, MP, Private Industry and Investment Adviser
to the Honourable Prime Minister; Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam,
Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and
Md. Sirazul Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment
Development Authority (BIDA) along with other guests were present at the
event. Earlier, The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the
People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina was the chief guest of the
London Session on 4 November 2021. Along with Her, Bangladesh was
represented by Dr. A. K. Abdul Monem, MP, the Honorable Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, the Honorable Minister of
Land and Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, the Honorable Minister of State,
Information and Communication Technology, Anisuzzaman Chowdhury,
Chairman of Executive Committee, United Commercial Bank Ltd.
