Mr. Shakawath Hossain has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited & HANSA Management Limited. Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited is the owning company of The Westin Dhaka, HANSA – A Premium Residence, the upcoming – Sheraton Dhaka (Dec 2019), Hyatt Centric (2021), Hyatt Residence and St. Regis (2023). HANSA Management Ltd. is one of the finest facility management service provider company in the country and it offers extended International standard Facility Management for the hospitality and commercial industry of the country.

Mr. Shakawath is a renowned professional in the hospitality & tourism industry of Bangladesh. He dynamically worked in the industry for over 18 years and possesses a great track record with many professional achievements. He worked in various prestigious Hotels in Bangladesh and completed many international trainings in different fields. Under his leadership, The Westin Dhaka successfully integrated into a Marriott International property after the global merger between Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International. Under his supervision, The Westin Dhaka became the top 3 hotels in the region in terms of ADR and RevPAR in the Asia Pacific. He also led the property to achieve a “Crisis Safety & Security Assessment” score of 93%.

Through his long working experience, he has shown his successful leadership ability in various capacities which include revenue management, operations management, resource development, process development and hotel pre-opening management. He possess a sound knowledge about the overall market, including competitors’ strengths, economic trends, supply and demand.

He was previously appointed as the Resident Manager and acting General Manager of The Westin Dhaka. He worked in various leading roles such as Director of Rooms & Operational Excellence and Director of Operations before being promoted as the Resident Manager in August 2017. Under his leadership as acting General Manager, The Westin Dhaka still holds its position of being the leading hotel in Bangladesh. He also holds an MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Dhaka.
