PMI Bangladesh Chapter hosts sixth Bangladesh Project Management Symposium & Awards 2024
The PMI Bangladesh Chapter marked the resounding success of its sixth annual Project Management Symposium & Awards 2024 on 9 November at the Radisson Blu Water Garden in Dhaka. With the theme ‘Art of Project Management: Maximising Project Success’, the event brought together over 350 project managers, industry leaders, and professionals to exchange insights and celebrate excellence in project management. Odoo Middle East DWC-LLC was the Event Partner, and Kolpolok was the Gold Sponsor of this flagship event.
The event began with a welcome address by ATM Iqbal Chowdhury, President of PMI Bangladesh Chapter. Zaved Akhtar, Chairman and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh, inaugurated the event, emphasising project management’s critical role in driving organisational success. Amit Goyal, Managing Director of PMI South Asia, highlighted the evolving landscape of project management in Bangladesh.
Keynote sessions and panel discussions featured industry leaders, including Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO, Pubali Bank PLC, Humaira Azam, Managing Director, Lanka Bangla Finance PLC, Mominul Islam, Chairman, Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC, Md. Highlights included a motivational session, interactive icebreaker quiz, and energiser activities, ensuring an engaging experience for all attendees. The prestigious Glorious Project Award was presented to Proyash for its outstanding contributions to societal development through exemplary project management practices.
The evening concluded with the Project Management Awards, honouring 11 organisations across 13 categories, including Bank Asia, BSRM Group, Banglalink, BRAC IT, Walton, and Bangladesh Tourism Board for their exceptional achievements. The symposium not only celebrated the accomplishments of the past year but also set the stage for future innovations and success in the dynamic field of project management.
