A leader bears the responsibility of accountability, integrity, ethics and transparency. Success in life will come when one adheres to these principles. Purpose, passion, skills and hard work should be self-disciplined in the early stages of life. As one moves ahead in life, one will interact with a myriad of people. There is something to learn from everyone. Everyone deserves respect, and you will get a scope to learn from them if you respect them.

In the face of adversity, the strong will prevail. While there will be hardships and difficulties that might make you want to stop taking another step forward, there are no alternatives to rising up to the challenge and conquering it. With hard work and dedication, you must aim to excel at your speciality. While there will always be bias, prejudice and discrimination, if you are the best at what you do, you will be irreplaceable.

As Bangladesh undergoes digital transformation we have the potential to bring down barriers of distance and deprivation. Where once rural residents had to travel to Dhaka for medical advice, digitalisation is facilitating remote services, improving the standard of living across all wakes of life. To move with the times where cloud computing, data-driven decision making and artificial intelligence are being ubiquitously adopted, the future workforce must also upgrade their skillsets. In any career you seek, you must be aligned with organisation goals and take ownership of your activities. Understanding what the organisation stands for is a key to succeeding in your career and making you feel more accomplished.

The marketing landscape is rapidly evolving. It is important to conduct a thorough research about the products and services in the market in order to become more adaptable in this amorphous environment. From my own experience, I can say that it is important to identify a gap and necessity in the market that needs to be fulfilled. When I launched Aromatic Cosmetic Soap, I introduced it to the market as halal soap. I offered an alternative solution to using animal fat by utilising vegetable fat instead. To stay in the market, it is essential to conduct thorough research on the ongoing trends.

In today’s textbook-focused approach to education, being a creative thinker offers great value. The broadcast media industry demands creativity and strong dedication to pursuing a career in this field. Being passionate about research and development will play a crucial role in your career if you want to be an impactful reporter, news presenter, or front-liner on the TV screen. You must dream big and broaden your horizon and have a strong and confident voice that can reach the masses.

Bangladesh needs young blood to inspire creativity in its growth and prosperity. But to support aspiring leaders, we need the wisdom and expertise of the elder generation who can guide them on the mechanisms of our industries. The progress of our nation must occur through a blended process. But while we must learn from those who have laid the foundations of this country, we must not forget to build our own identity. To that extent, to the youth, I say, don’t blindly follow anyone. Be yourself, love yourself, and love and respect your work. Be accountable, and take responsibility, and you will be successful.
