Cox’s Bazar, April 29, 2025- The Cox’s Bazar Child Protection Platform (CCPP) held its General Meeting today, reaffirming the collective commitment to strengthening protection services for Bangladeshi children. The meeting took place this morning at a local hotel in Cox’s Bazar, bringing together representatives from government agencies, UN bodies, international and national NGOs, and other child protection stakeholders.

“Protecting children’s rights requires strong, united action. The government is committed to working with all partners to build resilient child protection systems in Cox’s Bazar. We need a functional dashboard, through CCPP, we are ensuring efforts are coordinated, sustainable, and aligned with national priorities,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, Mr. Mohammad Salahuddin while delivering his speech as the Chief Guest. He also praised the platform’s work.

Participants reviewed achievements over the past year, discussed challenges, and set priorities for the coming months. Key focus areas include enhancing information sharing through the CCPP Dashboard, expanding capacity-building efforts, strengthening joint advocacy, and integrating inclusion, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience into programming.

In the opening speech, Mr. Hasan Masud, Team Lead of the CCPP Working Team, said, “The true strength of CCPP lies in bringing diverse actors together under a shared vision — ensuring every child is safe, supported, and heard. Guided by the District Child Welfare Board, we are working to close service gaps, strengthen collaboration, and build a better future for all children in Cox’s Bazar. Also hoping that this platform will contribute at the policy level in the future.”

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to strengthen collaboration, share knowledge, and advocate for systemic improvements. Through continued cooperation, CCPP remains at the forefront of developing sustainable, cost-effective, and impactful child protection solutions in Cox’s Bazar.

Established under the guidance of the District Child Welfare Board, Cox’s Bazar Child Protection Platform (CCPP), initiated by Save the Children, coordinates child protection efforts by identifying service gaps, reducing duplication, and promoting collaboration among key stakeholders. Its Working Team, composed of selected organizations, UN agencies, INGOs, and national and local NGOs, leads joint initiatives to achieve better outcomes for children.

Save the Children has been working for children in Bangladesh for over 50 years and in the Cox’s Bazar district since 2012.
