Bangladeshi movie theaters experiencing some warmth in previously unused Cineplex seats
The minute Ananta Jalil Announced his next film ‘Most Welcome 2, we all knew another blockbuster is on its way. After all it is the most expensive film ever made in history of bangladeshi cinem. Most Welcome Series is undoubtedly Dhallywood’s biggest franchises and Most Welcome 2; The second film of ‘MW’ Series has better to offer. With Ananta Jalil playing the protagonist the director has bought several change to the cast, In Most Welcome 2 While Shimul Khan played an antagonist; Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu was hired to do an item song for the film. Great casting choice, big budget, Eid release; Most Welcome 2 was a solid blockbuster material.
Jalil deserves kudos. Despite criticism from some naysayers, He persevered and today he is the biggest superstar of Dhallywood and first Bangladeshi actor to become an actor-turned-brand ambassador of Grameenphone. Undoubtedly Bangladesh’s most Expensive film, Most Welcome 2 was made with a giant budget of Tk. 20 billion. Around Tk. million was spent only on the heroine’s costumes; ironically more than the budget of Bangladeshi Films which were used to be made 2-3 years ago.
The story is about a Bangladeshi scientist who creates a Antidote of a deadly disease spread across the earth but It doesn’t go too well the Underworld Mafia. They go after the Scientist (Barsha) to kill her, But A Honest Police Officer (Ananta Jalil) stand against the Mafia in order to save the people who have been infected by the virus.
In a recent interview with a leading Bangladeshi newspaper, he said that ‘people will be surprised by his new idea of promoting the film and also said the way he will promote his film has never been done in any south asian countries including India (Bollywood)’.

Probably the Bangladeshi movies’ biggest competition so far, two of the dhallywood’s biggest superstars has come face to face this Eid Ul Azha. The audience saw the recent release of Arefin Shuvo’s much talked about film Kistimaat and Shakib Khan’s controversial films. According to media and some leading newspapers, Shakib Khan has attracted more theaters for his films but it was Arefin Shuvo who is more favored by the audience. As per sources, Kistimaat has opened in 70 theaters across Bangladesh and is awaiting for more theaters on coming weeks.
Shakib Khan has come under controversy by releasing three of his films on same day. Hitman; his first film has stirred a lot of controversies due to the fact that the film is copy of some South Indian film; there are also rumors that Shakib Khan has bribed the censor board into lifting ban from the film. His other two films also did not receive any acclaim from audience due to poor script, and other reasons.
On the other side Kistimaat received praises from both audiences and critics for its originality and outstanding performance from the cast. Kistimaat scored a massive hit at the box office and still running packed house all across Bangladesh with collection of 1.65 crores in 3 days, According to the director, Kistimaat is riding high in Box Office.
