NSU Young Entrepreneur Society’s ‘NSUers Meet Corporate Icons’ promises to deliver for startup aspirants

Wafiur Rahman

Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES!), the business club of North South University (NSU), is set to hold ‘NSUers Meet Corporate Icons’ for the NSU students on the campus on 30 September and 1 October. Renowned corporate persons of Bangladesh are expected to share their stories, experience and views with the students at the programme being organised for the fifth time.

Many passionate individuals have joined the spree of startup ventures in Bangladesh, leaving their financially-secured jobs at home and abroad, resulting in a surge in independent initiatives for doing something innovative, something they start from scratch. Many have succeeded in their startup ventures and many have successfully advocated the cause. This year, NSU Yes! intends to bring those individuals in front of the students and have them share their success stories and their mantras for possessing positive work satisfaction.

NSUers Meet Corporate Icons (NMCI) is an in-house event of North South University orgranised by NSU YES! with the aim to provide the opportunity to the students to interact with different corporate leaders coming in close touch.

NMCI started its journey back in 2010 and since then NSU YES! like all its other ventures aspired to help the students and prepare them for the ‘real-world’. The whole concept of NSUers Meet Corporate Icons was to bridge the gap between the corporate world and the students.

This event consists of one or two day long sessions where the corporate icons share their knowledge with the students, who have previously registered via the booth to attend the sessions, as well as create an awareness about facts and requirements of graduates today. This is followed by a question and answer session where the students share their concerns and inquire about certain issues.

Why this event?

What can be more encouraging for all the striving business tycoons of the future Bangladesh than to hear all those galvanising words directly from their icons? This in-house event has gained widespread acquiescence from the students. NSUers Meet Corporate Icons (NMCI) was organised so that they (NSU students) could get the opportunity of meeting corporate leaders.

Being a business club, NSU YES! aspires to help the students and prepares them for the ‘real-world’. It wanted to hold an event that prioritises the NSUers and hence came up with ‘NSUers Meet Corporate Icons’. NMCI was an instant ‘hit’. They received overwhelming response in all the seasons including this recent one and what inspired them even more is the constant request from students outside North South University to make it open for all so that they could be a part of this magnificent event.

For this event, ICE Business Times is the official magazine partner.
