The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka successfully facilitated the participation of around 40 Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), held from 15 to 19 October 2025 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. This initiative aimed to further strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and Bangladesh and to promote Indonesia’s export potential in key sectors.
As a result of this facilitation, four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Indonesian and Bangladeshi companies. These MoUs covered a diverse range of products, including fast-moving consumer goods, agricultural commodities such as areca nuts and coconut products, cocoa powder, and other potential export items. In addition to these MoUs, several other business deals were concluded, and new opportunities for cooperation were explored, reflecting the growing commercial interest between both countries.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Embassy organized the Indonesia–Bangladesh Stakeholders Meeting & Gathering, attended by more than 120 participants. The event brought together government representatives, including senior officials from Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Ambassador-designate to Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Indonesia, and the Director General of Public Diplomacy. Also present were members of the Indonesia–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), representatives of Indonesian state-owned enterprises, and private sector delegates from both countries.
The meeting served as an important platform to discuss strategies for enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as to share insights and experiences from business actors in both countries. It also provided an effective networking and business-matching opportunity, allowing participants to explore concrete areas of collaboration and potential investment partnerships.
Looking ahead, the Embassy plans to organize follow-up promotional activities in Bangladesh focusing on key Indonesian products, including palm oil and its derivatives, agricultural commodities and spices, handicrafts, and state-owned enterprise projects.
Overall, the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia resulted in recorded real transactions amounting to over USD 3 million and potential transactions valued at more than USD 150 million, marking another significant milestone in advancing Indonesia–Bangladesh economic partnership.
