Winners set to participate in the global Standard Chartered Trophy in Liverpool FC’s famed Anfield stadium later this year
Bangla Trac Ltd. has emerged as champions of the Standard Chartered Trophy 2020 Bangladesh. Bangla Trac Ltd. completed a 3-0 win over IDLC Finance Ltd. in the final match of the day-long tournament, held at the Mansoor Ali National Handball Stadium recently. Naser Ezaz Bijoy, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Jamal Bhuyan, captain of the Bangladesh national football team, handed over the champion’s trophy to the winners.
The winning team will head to Anfield to represent Team Bangladesh in the global round of the Standard Chartered Trophy. This year, local tournaments are being held in eight countries: Korea, Hong Kong, India, UK, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, Bangladesh.
In addition to an opportunity to play football on an English Premier League pitch, the winning team will meet Liverpool FC legends and watch Liverpool F.C.’s last home game of 2019-20.
The 12 participating teams in the Bangladesh leg of Standard Chartered Trophy 2020 Bangladesh were Bangla Trac Ltd, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, IDLC Finance Ltd, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, JTI Bangladesh, Pran-RFL Group, Nestlé Bangladesh Ltd, Marico Bangladesh Ltd, Unilever Bangladesh Ltd, Unique Group, United Group, Chevron Bangladesh.
