Quotient

The basic principle of quantum
computation is that quantum properties
can be used to represent and structure
data and that quantum mechanisms can
be devised and built to perform operations
with this data. While classical computers
are based on bits whereas, a quantum
computer is based on quantum bits which
are better known as qubits. These qubits
are physically derived from small quantum
objects on an atomic level such as
electrons or photons, where a pure
quantum mechanical state such as the
spin indicates the ones and zeros, which is
how processing is done in traditional
computers. As a result, the impact of the
processing power has gone up multifold.
