It can be daunting to launch a business. The road to entrepreneurship is
often a treacherous one filled with unexpected detours, roadblocks and
dead ends. There are countless sleepless nights, plans that don’t materialize
and customers that never arrive. Yet despite all these hardships, every year,
thousands of entrepreneurs embark on this journey determined to bring their
vision to fruition and fill a need they see in society. They open
brick-and-mortar businesses, launch tech startups, or bring a new product
or service into the marketplace.
In an effort to fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, the March 2020 issue of ICE
Business Times proudly features the local chapter of a global platform -
Entrepreneurs’ Organization, which has a rich legacy of leading by
example. EO Bangladesh is keenly monitoring the revolution, and
welcoming entrepreneurs who are eager to join a global network of
like-minded thought leaders, to jointly innovate and rise up to the challenges
of the times we find ourselves in. It is from this legion of visionaries, the
solutions to our future hurdles will emerge. Hossain Khaled, Managing
Director of Anwar Group, Tahsin Aman, Chair of Ayat Education and
Farzanah Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO, Green Delta Insurance
share their enlightening and enlivening experience of having become
members of the local chapter and leading it in various capacities. The
beauty of the entrepreneurial spirit is that it welcomes the dreamers, the
realists and the risk-takers, who are collectively working towards building a
prosperous Bangladesh.
Our lineup of interviews, in March issue, includes the dynamic CEO of
Grameenphone, Yasir Azman, who is gearing up to lead the gigantic telco
into the digital sphere, while the well renowned Syed Mahbubur Rahman,
Managing Director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank sheds light on his digital
aspirations for MTB. We have another ace banker Rahel Ahmed, CEO of
Prime Bank highlighting the need to bring women from all demography into
the banking net, and to leverage the demographic dividend to drive the
digital revolution gripping the growing nation. Rupali Chowdhury,
Managing Director, Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. reaffirms her commitment
to building an environmentally conscious and engaged consumer base.
The boons of digitalization have allowed the entrepreneurial train to take
off, and it is the youth of the nation who are powering the momentum. As
we step into March, let’s harness the empowering strength of the month and
stand firm in the face of the many adversities plaguing the world as we know
it. Together we can surely turn this world into a beautiful place.
